|An Off The Wall Project – Cairns is an experimental and evolutionary two-phase live graffiti event cum art exhibition by designer India Collins. |
Suiko from Hiroshima, David Cragg from Sydney and Cairns-based Daniel Wallwork are three maestros of graffiti who joined forces for three days of live painting in August 2013. A temporary 15 metre wall was erected on the front lawn at The Salt House Bar and Restaurant in Cairns where each artist's acclaimed style drew in the crowds. Tourists and residents witnessed this art form enacted out of its traditional context, and interacted with the artists and the works in progress.
In phase two of this project India Collins transformed their gestures on canvas and plywood into a range of bespoke design objects, combining aesthetics and function and art and design.
