Isaac Julien: 'Film-Noir Angels' Looking for Langston features Julien's award-winning film Looking for Langston (1989), which was recently shown at both MoMA New York and Tate Britain in 2017 before premiering in Sydney. Exhibiting alongside the film are his newly conceived and incredibly moving large-scale photographs together with original silver gelatin photographic works. These sophisticated and powerful presentations expand upon Isaac Julien's unique engagement with an ever-shifting visual culture. Julien is unapologetic about his pursuit of beauty and the importance of visual pleasure as an entry point to any exploration of subtextual issues.
