James Dorahy in the running for small business award - Art Collector

12 September 2011 | Sydney’s James Dorahy Project Space is a finalist in the specialty retail & wholesale category of the 2011 City of Sydney small business awards.

The gallery is competing against seven other finalists, including Iain Dawson Gallery.

The winner will be announced at a gala dinner tonight and will receive a trophy.

“We’ve just celebrated our fifth anniversary and so far we’ve achieved both critical acclaim and business success,” says gallery director James Dorahy.

“We’ve also stayed true to our roots here in Potts Point by offering local residents a unique space where they can view and purchase the work of artists that may never have otherwise been discovered – and at an affordable price.”

”I hope our involvement in this year’s Business Awards helps us gain more exposure and affords new opportunities for our artists, all of whom are committed to the City of Sydney’s creative vision.”

The artist run spaces Firstdraft and Gaffa are also vying for an award in the cultural & creative services category.
