12 September 2011 | James and Eleanor Avery are currently exhibiting in London with Schwartz Gallery. Their collaborative work (the artists also work independently) is generally site specific, often exploring themes like days out, armchair tourism and cult ideology with a science fiction aesthetic. This exhibition, The Fox and Hounds, features a monolithic sculpture set beside a series of doubled and repeated wall sculptures and video frames. The title reflects the artists’ view that the work creates an oppositional space where the hunter hunts, and the hunted is hunted. The Fox and Hounds continues until 1 October 2011. | ||||
