Jane Valentine is one of Australia’s pre-eminent and rare marble sculptors. Her sculpture, Unrequited, which is showing at [MARS] Gallery is an installation in marble of a wing which has been separated from the body of an angel. It is exquisitely beautiful, whilst the texture is both delicate and smooth it is also raw, the marble is cool as well as sensual. Its’ fragility brings out all the elements associated with love and pain.
