Jason Cordero: Liminal - Art Collector

Jason Cordero, ‘The Common Thread’, 2018. Oil on linen, 60 x 60cm. Courtesy: the artist and Colville Gallery, Hobart.
Jason Cordero is a painter who captures the grand and the majestic with soaring mountain peaks, clouds and eternal skies, water and seas. His works invite the suggestion of primitive dramatic forces of nature, perhaps another world where this super realism is reflected in two suns or a cosmic red tree.  It is a landscape of proportions that relate the scale of nature to mortal perspective.

These clouds and upper heavens may be a place of others, perhaps the gods and angels glimpsed through mists, purporting to legends that have been half remembered down though centuries, stories of mysteries told by man, held together by a common thread

Cordero trained South Australia School of Art and since 1995 has painted full time. His work has achieved recognition on a national basis including winning numerous awards and finalist in major events including the Glover, John Leslie, Waterhouse, Geelong Contemporary and ANZAC Art Awards.
