Jenny Watson: Peripheral Vision - Art Collector

Jenny Watson, Tracey Marander goes to work, 2018. Acrylic, Japanese pigments, haberdashery on gesso primed Belgian linen, 276 x 200cm. Courtesy of the artist and Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, NSW. Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery is pleased to present Jenny Watson: Peripheral Vision. This exhibition will be Watson's first solo exhibition in Australia after her hugely successful survey exhibition 'The Fabric of Fantasy' at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney. Watson is a leading Australian artist whose conceptual painting practice spans more than four decades. Inspired by both punk and feminism, Watson’s work uses distilled imagery and abbreviated text to create an intimate interior world. Through her painting, we glimpse a dreamlike memory from childhood when solitude meant the potential for innocent abandon, the release of unbridled energy, and the possibility of escape.
