Jesse Marlow wins 2012 Bowness Prize - Art Collector

9 October 2012 | Melbourne-based street photographer Jesse Marlow has won the Bowness Photography Prize for 2012. Marlow’s winning photograph Laser Vision is an ambiguous image of a chance encounter in urban Melbourne. Marlow receives a $25,000 cash prize.

Judging this year’s award were Magnum photographer Trent Parke, National Gallery of Victoria senior photography curator Isobel Crombie and Monash Gallery of Art gallery director Shaune Lakin. The panel also gave honourable mentions to Siri Hayes, Christian Thompson and William Yang.

An exhibition of the 2012 Bowness finalists is on display at the MGA until 18 November 2012.
