Jessica Loughlin’s works capture an essence, a spirit of place, through an extraordinary manipulation of the medium of glass. the familiar edge of the unknown will be her first solo show since 2011, comprising approximately 10 ethereal wall panels that explore ideas of air, light, distance and space, absorbing audiences with their otherworldly beauty. More than representing place itself, Loughlin is interested in how we perceive and respond to it.
The Melbourne-born, Adelaide-based artist has been working with glass for the past 16 years and in that time has garnered both national and international acclaim. She began working with Sabbia Gallery in Sydney in 2006.
