John Howley is a name that resonates through the Melbourne art world. Born in 1931 he has pursued his passion ever since completing his studies at the National Gallery School of Art in Melbourne (1949-54) under Murray Griffin. These days Howley's paintings and drawings embrace the challenges presented by our constantly evolving technological world. The rapid pace of technological changes in robotics and medical science are themes he pursues in his work, with a keen eye also fixed on the human condition as it has travelled through time.
