Jonathan McCord: Neoarchaic - Art Collector

Jonathan McCord, SunFlower Looking-Glass, 2015. Bone, wire, ply board, mirror glass, 117 x 117 x 9cm.

A new exhibition of sculptural works by Jonathon McCord.

McCord creates works of great beauty and elegance using bones found on the property where he lives in Queensland. The bones are the remains of mature animals that have died a natural death and are found sun dried in the open landscape.

McCord’s affection and respect for the animals has grown over time, appreciating their peaceful character, intuitive intelligence and protective loyalty to their young and herd. He aims to venerate their physical beauty in works of art.
