Julian Laffan: Le Monde - observations of place - Art Collector

Julian Laffan, On the way to Salzburg, 2017. Woodcut, gouache and pencil on ply, 21 x 21cm. Courtesy of the artist and Beaver Galleries, Canberra.

Canberra regional artist Julian Laffan’s hand-cut and coloured woodcuts explore themes of history and identity. This particular series captures moments in time and are inspired by his recent travels, with the meticulously hand-cut images a direct contrast to the fleeting moment he portrays. Laffan's works are held in the collections of the Canberra Museum and Gallery as well as the Print Council of Australia.
