Kate Smith gains representation with Sutton Gallery - Art Collector

18 July 2011 | Melbourne’s Sutton Gallery has announced it will represent artist Kate Smith, known for her vivid palette and use of a wide range of media including cloth, wood, stockings and rope.

Smith will remain in Sydney until the end of July, completing her studio residency with Artspace, after which her works will be displayed in a solo exhibition at Studio 12, Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne in August.

Her works will also be on view in another solo exhibition at db Gallery in Sydney from 28 July to 21 August 2011.

A series of Smith’s paintings will be featured in
Details through Abstraction at Arts Projects Australia in Melbourne, running from 23 July to 7 September 2011, and Smith is also a finalist in the Churchie National Emerging Art Exhibition, currently on view at Griffith University Art Gallery, Brisbane.
