The Kedumba drawing award, the premier event for drawing in Australia, is celebrating its 25th year.

The annual award invites selected artists from across the country to participate. As the award is acquisitive, the selected works become part of the Kedumba collection of contemporary Australian drawings, which over the award’s history, has led to the accumulation of 211 drawings. Artists previously represented include Rick Amor, Elisabeth Cummings, Rachel Ellis, Donald Friend, Kevin Lincoln, John Olsen, Lloyd Rees, Jan Senbergs and Aida Tomescu.

Each year the award is judged by an eminent Australian artist, which accounts for the diversity of the current collection. The 2014 Kedumba drawing award judge Ann Cape selected the award winners whose work would enhance the Kedumba collection.

Cape’s selections include David Edgar’s Hostile Terrain, Deborah Marks’ Liminality, Paul Miller’s Rock Gully Yellow Box, Paul White’s Leftovers (sandwiched), Jane Canfield’s Landscape, and Julie Harris’ Heath Drawing for E.K.

The drawing award will show at the Wild Valley Art Park until 16 November 2014. It will then travel to Orange Regional Gallery, exhibiting from 28 November 2014 to 11 January 2015.
