Kirsten Coehlo: Prospect - Art Collector

Kirsten Coehlo, 'Installation view', 2012. Porcelain vessels, assorted sizes.

'Prospect' is award-winning South Australian ceramicist Coehlo’s first solo exhibition in Melbourne. Inspired by colonial era enamel and ceramic wares her seductive porcelain vessels represent both a tribute to and elevation of these humble forms, fusing pared back forms with reduction-fired glazes in silky white and cool celadon.

Coehlo won the Josephine Ulrick Ceramic Award, 2005 and the Excellence in Object Award, 2006. Her work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and is in numerous institutional collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia and Art Gallery of South Australia.
