21 February 2011 | Beijing Bicycle, a work by Melbourne photographer Laki Sideris, has launched the Centre For Contemporary Photography’s new billboard project in Melbourne.

The billboard, a partnership between CCP, the City of Yarra and 7-Eleven, is located on the corner of Smith and Otter Streets.

Fittingly for its public position, Sideris’s work deals with the nature of private space in a public environment.
Beijing Bicycle is a series of 30 images of cyclists in Beijing. Immersed in their own thoughts, the cyclists display common expressions such as concentration, fatigue and even melancholia.

The work will be on view until the end of May 2011.
