LAYLA RUDNEVA-MACKAY: GREEN WITH ENVY
Layla Rudneva-Mackay: Green with envy - Art Collector
|28 May 2012 | A new book on Layla Rudneva-Mackay’s photography practice has been published by Starkwhite and Clouds. |
The book, titled Green with envy, covers her work from 2002 to 2009, a time when the artist had launched into photography after letting go of the sculptural side of her practice. (Rudneva-Mackay continues to produce graphic work, painting and writing in addition to photography.)
Her photography often depicts figures in the midst of ambiguous, open-ended activity, as well as pictures of architecture at night.
The book, published in an edition of 1000, includes writings by the artist as well as Jon Bywater, Sean O’Reilly, Selene Forester and Gwynneth Porter.
