Linde Ivimey: Set in Bone - Art Collector

Linde Ivimey, Douglas Mawson, 2012. Steel armature, acrylic resin, cast and natural cow, turkey and chicken bones, dyed cotton, natural fibre, found objects and titanium oxide. 80 x 40 x 57cm

Since her widely acclaimed Heide Museum of Art survey exhibition in 2003, Linde Ivimey’s instantly recognisable sculptures have caught the imagination of the Australian public. At its core, Ivimey’s work is highly personal as it explores her experiences and travels from childhood to adulthood. Her latest body of work is inspired by her eclectic fascination with Christian saints, Greek and Roman mythology and Antarctic exploration.
