Born to notable East Kimberley artists Billy Duncan and Bessie Malarvie, Louise Malarvie was exposed to artistic expression from an early age. The temerity and conviction with which she paints should be of no great surprise. Encouraged by the close-knit community of Waringarri Aboriginal Arts after the loss of her mother, Malarvie has taken it upon herself to solidify and safeguard the ancient wisdoms of her mother’s land and lore. This exhibition showcases her tenacious bi-tonal and highly graphical style.
