MCA unveils new acquisitions - Art Collector

|19 February 2013 | The Museum of Contemporary Art has just unveiled the first work to be purchased with funds from the new MCA Foundation.|
Gordon Bennett's Home Décor (Relative/Absolute) Flowers for Mathinna #2 (pictured above) contains multiple references to Australia's colonial art history.
The MCA Foundation was created to raise funds for acquiring or commissioning works for the MCA Collection which has over 4,000 works.
The foundation is chaired by Ari Droga. The foundation council consists of Justin Miller, Catriona Mordant, Dick Quan, Andrew Roberts, Nick Tobias, Ivan Wheen and Shannan Whitney, who are all philanthropists and advocates of contemporary Australian art.
