7 February 2011 | The first major retrospective of the work of photographer Polixeni Papapetrou is currently on view at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney.

The exhibition, which spans the past 12 years, focuses on work created with her children Olympia and Salomon and their friends. The images use play and dress-ups to explore the complex and often contradictory attitudes of the adult world towards children.

Tales from Elsewhere has been curated by ACP director Alasdair Foster and is accompanied by a digital archive so that viewers can explore Papapetrou’s full oeuvre.

The retrospective is on view until 12 March 2011.
