9 May 2011 | Sydney’s Martin Browne Fine Art will change its name to Martin Browne Contemporary when it moves to new premises in July.

The gallery is currently moving to a larger space in Paddington. The extra space and the opportunity to expand the gallery’s programming has prompted the move.

The new gallery, housed in one of the few art deco industrial buildings still standing in the inner city, has two gallery spaces with a total exhibiting area triple the size of the current Potts Point premises. There will also be an outdoor exhibition area and extensive first floor offices, stockroom and private viewing areas.

The Paddington gallery will be launched with a solo exhibition by Neil Frazer on 20 July 2011, which features landscapes painted on the artist’s recent expeditions into some of the more remote areas of Central and North Western Australia.
