Michael Cusack: Axiom - Art Collector

In this new body of work Called Axiom (a proposition that is not susceptible of proof or disproof ) Cusack presents a series of paintings that are an exploration of form, gesture and space. Organic shapes are rendered in tonal greys, then layered one after the other creating subtle spatial shifts that allow them to hover on the surface. These forms are framed by contrasting greens, ambers and burnt oranges that sear the canvas adding light and dimension. Although the colour and form is deliberately reductive, Cusack’s surfaces are incredibly evocative and complex.
