9 August 2011 | Sydney’s Michael Reid at Elizabeth Bay now represents photographer Marian Drew. She is the second photographer to join the stable in recent weeks, with Deborah Paauwe signing on in July. Michael Reid also began working with photographer Joseph McGlennon earlier in the year.

Much of Drew’s work involves layering images created by different photographic techniques, including double exposures and long exposure times. In
Bandicoot with Quince, for example, Drew used a 10-minute exposure with the studio lights turned off, applying paintbrush-like strokes of light with a torch.

Her work appears in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Artbank and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
