Alcaston Gallery on behalf of the Estate of Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori (c. 1924 – 11 February 2015) will present Sally Gabori: Painted Island Home, a survey of paintings recently released by the artist’s Estate and never previously exhibited. Curated to explore her home on Bentinck Island in Queensland’s Gulf of Carpentaria, this survey portrays the artist’s mind’s eye of land and sea, and most importantly Place by one of Australia’s most remarkable painters.
