NGV stages major Brent Harris exhibition - Art Collector

16 March 2012 | The National Gallery of Victoria has opened a solo exhibition of work by contemporary Melbourne painter Brent Harris.

Largely drawn from the NGV collection’s collection, and supplemented with a small number of private loans, the
Brent Harris exhibition comprises more than 80 works. The exhibition follows the development of the artist’s career spanning over two decades, from his earliest drawings through to his most recent paintings and prints from 2011.

Best known for imagery that drifts between abstraction and figuration, Harris’s newer works, which are more vibrant and colourful, signal a significant new phase in his career.

Brent Harris is on display at the NGV International from 10 March to 12 August 2012. A floor talk will be held this Saturday 17 March 2012 at 2pm, and again on 14 July 2012 at 2pm.
