Nadine Christensen: New works - Art Collector

Nadine Christensen, Untitled (Vanity), 2016. Acrylic on board, 120 x 150cm. Courtesy: the artist and Hugo Michell Gallery, Adelaide

Melbourne-based artist Nadine Christensen’s practice encompasses painting, drawing and sculpture, investigating the nature of reality, perception, surface and representation. In this new body of work, found objects such as brooms, rocks, rubble and earth, as well as window frames and rubbings, are subjects floating unanchored across painted landscapes and fields of colour.

Christensen is known for her intelligent approach to practice, making innovative connections across painted materials and methodologies. A gradual and subtle unraveling of spatial coherence takes place through the work. Christensen continues to surprise, delight and confound the viewer through her rigorous engagement and questioning.
