5 October 2010 | This week Melbourne’s Neon Parc will be exhibiting the work of Lane Cormick at Art Forum Berlin.

Neon Parc’s Geoff Newton says Cormick will be presenting “a suite of three eagle-shaped ice-coffee sculptures, which follows from his recent performance Unearthing the Hawke, as well as the artist's interest in the ephemera of studio-based practice, ice-coffee and a chance encounter with a concrete eagle (or possibly dragon) on his way to work.”

Cormick is primarily known for his performance-based practice which has in the past involved attempts to build a champagne fountain, speak Dutch, ride a motorbike through downtown Melbourne without a license (or getting caught) and create a political protest. Interested in skill, risk and failure, he prefers activities that he has either little or no experience performing.

Art Forum Berlin runs from 7 to 10 October 2010.
