11 December 2012 | The much talked about merger between Sydney stalwarts Tim Olsen Gallery and Rex Irwin Art Dealer has finally been announced.

A statement from Rex Irwin Art Dealer last week confirmed the gallery would be leaving its Queen Street premises at the end of the year to move into Olsen’s Jersey Road gallery space.

The new venture, named Olsen Irwin, will show both Australian and international art.

“We will each drop a few artists and merge our important artists,” Irwin told the
Australian Financial Review. “We’ll be a bit overstocked with artists initially, but there will be a degree of natural attrition.”
