Primavera artists announced - Art Collector

11 May 2010 | Jackson Slattery, Akira Akira and Alasdair McLuckie have been chosen to exhibit in this year's Primavera, the Museum of Contemporary Art's annual exhibition of young Australian artists.

Curated by Katie Dyer, gallery manager and curator at Sydney's National Art School, the selection also includes Julie Fragar, Agatha Gothe-Snape, James Newitt and Emma White.

The exhibition will commence in August and is expected to feature highly experimental work across a diverse array of mediums.

While Dyer has focused on selecting artists based on individual merit, rather than curating around a set topic, themes explored in Primavera include the relationship between humans and the natural environment, systems of knowledge, and the re-interpretation of historical precedents.
