26 February 2013 | Karen Woodbury Gallery in Melbourne has taken on representation of Reko Rennie.

Rennie is renowned for addressing issues affecting Indigenous Australians in contemporary society and draws inspiration from his Aboriginal heritage and imagery. He recreates national insignias, native flora and fauna, and visual motifs such as the concentric diamond of the Kamilaroi people using spray-paint and stencils. His unconventional rendering of these motifs are visually arresting with their saturated colours and brilliant palette.

Karen Woodbury Gallery is due to re-launch in May at its new location in Flinders Street.
