Robyn Sweaney, The Avenue, 2013. Acrylic on linen, 100 x 70cm. Courtesy: the artist and Anthea Polson Art, Gold Coast

Robyn Sweaney is renowned for her superbly rendered portraits of suburban houses. Her latest body of work sees her interest shift towards the gardens fashioned by the inhabitants. The exhibition's title references the Greek word topia, meaning a place, however the new paintings also aim to capture something of its opposite, utopia, meaning no particular place or a state of things where everything is perfect.
