One Thousand Cuts is Rod Moss’ first major retrospective exhibition in his hometown of Melbourne and features key works from his personal collection spanning from 1987 to present. For almost three decades Moss has been living and painting in Whitegate, an indigenous camp on the eastern fringe of Alice Springs. Here he has developed close friendships within a sharply divided society. Moss’ evocative narrative paintings depict the people of Whitegate in extraordinarily personal, vulnerable and private moments.
