Ruth Law: Musings in Ink - Art Collector

After a recent trip to Japan and having been inspired by the woodcut genius of Munakata Shiko, Ruth Law created a new body of work imbued with a strong essence of Japan. All of the works showcased in Musings in Ink are painted in ink and gouache on hand made Japanese washi paper and rice paper. These works include a series of fans with both Australian wildflowers and plum blossoms, bamboo, wisteria and irises. In other work, a geisha in her bath kimono shows her face, and mountains of mist are covered in Japanese calligraphy.
