|Alcaston Gallery presents a survey exhibition of paintings by Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori to celebrate the beginning of their 2015 exhibition calendar.|
Born around 1924, Sally Gabori began painting in her late seventies in 2005. Her interpretation of her Bentinck island home, infused with the full spectrum of colour, took the contemporary art world by surprise.
Colour Country - A Survey 2005-2013 illustrates the development of Sally Gabori's paintings from the geometric colour block, which was a dominant feature of her early works, to subtle variations of colour and texture which continually evolved in her later works.
