The Salon des Refusés exhibition was initiated by the S.H. Ervin Galley 25 years ago, in the tradition of the renegade French Impressionists of the 1860s who held a breakaway exhibition from the French Academy. The Salon panel goes behind the scenes of the Archibald and Wynne Prizes to select an exhibition from the works not chosen as finalists and invites the public to be the judge.
