Sarah Tomasetti is highly regarded for her poignant and luminous fresco paintings that explore our complex relationship with the natural world. The surface of last scattering is a term in physics that refers to the point at the edge of fog or gas where the particles mass sufficiently to reflect light. It is this ethereal edge between ice and air, cloud and mountain that is the focus of her paintings, inviting us to question the transitory nature of our own perception.
