Scape biennial cancelled following earthquake - Art Collector
|28 February 2011 | The Scape biennial for public art in Christchurch has been cancelled due to last week’s earthquake. |
Scape was originally scheduled for September last year, but was postponed to March 2011 due to the first major Christchurch earthquake. The event has now been delayed indefinitely.
A statement released by Scape director Deborah McCormick said: “The SCAPE Team of staff and trustees, and their families, are safe and have been able to get to a secure place.
“Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbours who have suffered loss at the hands of this tragedy.
“The Trust and SCAPE Team will meet to discuss the future of SCAPE once the city has settled and begun the difficult healing process. We would like to thank everyone for the offers of assistance and support at this difficult time.”
