Scott’s extraordinary technique features a combination of painting and pyrography, where he draws on paper with a burning instrument. He paints with a palette of natural pigments that he sources and extracts, predominantly from the bush, including ochres, minerals, charcoals and organic washes. In this exciting new collection, most works feature a palette of warm, beautiful ochres with striking green and blue highlights from an innovative use of minerals, including malachite and lapis lazuli.

Whilst the technique is fascinating, it is the quality and creativeness inherent in Marr’s drawing that underpins his many career highlights. His subject matter features bio-metamorphic interpretations of animals and their habitats, together with figurative works.
