23 July 2012 | Shaun Gladwell is about to receive his first solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.

The small-scale show features new work, including a dual-channel video called
Broken Dance (Beatboxed), a piece that continues Gladwell’s interest in capturing the body in motion – in this case the extreme dance styles of breakdancing, krumping and whacking.

Also included in the exhibition are two paintings which take the video camera as their subject.

The exhibition is presented as part of the gallery’s Contemporary Projects series, supported by philanthropist Andrew Cameron.

The exhibition runs from 23 August to 21 October 2012 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.
