Shaun O'Connor shows in Rotterdam - Art Collector

14 February 2011 | Shaun O’Connor is one of 25 artists from around the world selected to represent the Rotterdam Artist in Residence program at Art Rotterdam 2011.

RAiR is a co-operation between five artist-in-residence initiatives in the city: Duende; Het Wilde Weten; Kaus Australis; Stichting B.a.d; and Stichting Kunst & Complex.

The 25 artists selected by RAiR to show at Art Rotterdam have all undertaken artist residencies with one of these five artist-run organisations.

O’Connor says his inclusion in this project came about after completing a three-month artist residency with Stichting Kunst & Complex in 2003.

At Art Rotterdam, O’Connor will show a large-scale untitled work on paper that was recently shown in the Blake Prize Directors Cut online exhibition.

O’Connor also has another international residency to look forward to, having secured a three-month Australia Council residency at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris which will begin in August.
