2 July 2012 | Sculptor Shona Wilson has a solo exhibition opening at Noosa Regional Gallery this week.

Known for her two- and three-dimensional assemblages in mixed media, this show takes its cue from diatoms, a kind of algae, and investigates the way that the human colonisation of the planet has affected the structures of these simple creatures.

The exhibition, titled
A Ripple Effect, is the result of a collaborative research project with the CSIRO which Wilson undertook after receiving the Noosa Travelling Scholarship in 2010.

The exhibition runs from 4 July to 12 August 2012 at the Noosa Regional Gallery in Queensland.
