Solomon Booth wins prize for Torres Strait art - Art Collector

29 June 2010 | Solomon Booth has won the $5,000 Gab Titui Indigenous Art Award for his lino print on paper Coconut Palm Tree. Also receiving special mention was Yessie Mosby of Masig Island, who received the $2,000 runners up prize for his piece Umai Kraal Dog Mask.

The Gab Titui Indigenous Art Awards recognise talent from the Torres Strait Islands. This year, entries were judged by Stephen Gilchrist, the National Gallery of Victoria's curator of Indigenous art
