Sophia Szilagyi wins $4,000 Banyule Award - Australian Art Collector

| 16 January 2012 | Sophia Szilagyi is the winner of the $4,000 biennial Banyule Award for Works on Paper, announced late last year. The 2011 award was themed around the concept of duality. Szilagyi was selected by a judging panel that included Geelong Gallery director Geoffrey Edwards for a work called Courage. There were two people’s choice award winners, Liane Gough and Michelle Watson. Both receive a cash prize of $500. The award exhibition featured 30 finalists, including eX de Medici working with Rosalind Atkins, Jazmina Cininas, Claude Jones and Martin King. | ||||
