27 October 2010 | Sam Jinks and eX de Medici are the latest artists to join the stable of Sydney’s Sullivan+Strumpf Fine Art.

Co-director Joanna Strumpf says the additions are well timed. “Both of these new artists might require more space then our present gallery (Paddington) could offer. It is good timing then that early 2011 will see the opening of our new gallery space.”

“Sam Jinks caught our attention several years ago, and we have been fans ever since. Earlier this year when we were given the opportunity to meet with him, we didn't think twice,” she explains. And it’s a similar story for eX de Medici, who Strumpf says has been on the gallery’s radar for 10 years but who she and co-director Ursula Sullivan only met for the first time last year.

Both artists will be exhibiting with the gallery in 2011 – de Medici in May with an exhibition following on from her recent placement as an official war artist in the Solomon Islands, and Jinks in September. The gallery also hopes to show Jinks’s work at an international art fair during 2011.
