Sunshine Coast painter wins $15,000 Kenilworth Art Prize - Art Collector

28 September 2010 | Painter David Paulson has won the $15,000 Kenilworth Art Prize. The UK-born artist is now based at Maleny on the Sunshine Coast and painted a local scene for the competition. Ths oil on canvas work, titled Autumn Pool, Maleny, will be acquired by Maroochy Shire for its collection.

Paulson, who works primarily with landscape and readings of the figure, has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize three times.

For the Kenilworth Art Prize, he was selected from a field including Tanmaya Bingham, Rex Backhaus-Smith, Pam Walpole and Garry Foye.
