17 January 2011 | Sutton Gallery will be presenting the entirety of Raafat Ishak’s work Responses to an immigration request from one hundred and ninety four governments at the Art Dubai art fair this March.

Portions of the work, which comprises 194 small painted panels, have been exhibited previously, including at ArtHK in May 2010, but this will be the first time the whole work has been exhibited in the one space.

Ishak talks in depth about the work in this
interview with Australian Art Collector.

Sutton Gallery will also exhibit works from Ishak’s 2009 series,
Emergencies, accidents and congratulations, which layers images of iconic Australian and international architecture with text to explore issues of immigration and assimilation.

Art Dubai will be held from 16 to 19 March 2011.
