New works by Australia’s most innovative choreographers. Four emerging choreographers will be given the unique opportunity to work with members of Sydney Dance Company, developing new work with some of the best dancers in Australia. New Breed is made possible by The Balnaves Foundation.

Working with the male dancers of Sydney Dance Company, independent Australian dance artist Kristina Chan has created Conform, a physical exploration of the pressures society places on men. Inspired by past and present women who have found themselves in positions of power only to be overthrown comes Reign from Indigenous Australian choreographer Daniel Riley.

Company dancers Fiona Jopp and Bernhard Knauer have also created brand new pieces Derived and so much doesn’t matter on members of the Sydney Dance Company ensemble.
