After 22 years as executive director of the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA), Tamara Winikoff OAM, has announced her resignation.
During her time at NAVA, Winikoff oversaw the advocacy and protection of Australia’s visual arts sector, including substantial increases in government funding in the sector, the development of a Code of Practice for the visual arts industry and campaigning for the Artists Resale Royalty scheme.
“It has been a joy and a privilege to support the brilliant work of Australia’s cultural creators and the essential contribution they make to articulating the things that matter with such skill and potency,” says Winikoff.
Winikoff will officially conclude her position as executive director on 30 June 2017. On her future, Winikoff says, “Now I’m looking forward to doing some independent consultancy work.”
