Running over four days at the same time as Sydney Contemporary, The Other Art Fair provides a platform to purchase affordable art directly from 100 selected artists.

The largest of its kind in the United Kingdom and the first of its kind in Sydney, the artist led fair focuses on emerging, undiscovered talent – gallery-represented artists are (in general) not permitted to participate.

75 artists have been announced to showcase their work direct to the public at the fair across four days, with mediums spanning installation, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, painting, video works and photography.

Chosen artists include:

- Emerging Korean artist collective Reissue Korea, who will showcase sculpture and installation
- 2015 Archibald finalist, American-born, Sydney-based painter Kim Leutwyler
- Sydney-based Rachel Wells, with her hyper-real digital photographic montages
- Danielle Emery, who will present work under the name of TINNY, showcasing tiny dioramas onto the insides of inside antique tobacco, lozenge and ointment tins

The selection committee included uber-collector Dick Quan, artist Mikala Dwyer, arts advisor Virginia Wilson, former White Rabbit Gallery curator Paris Neilson and MCA’s assistant curator Megan Robson. Buyers can expect a variety of quality work spanning all mediums from some of Australia’s best and brightest on the emerging scene.

The Other Art Fair runs from 10 - 13 September 2015.
